Surrounded by smallness

And mama's silk pajamas

There's comfort in that

Closeness in that closet in the forest

Where I grew up in the country

In a town you never heard of

Before

 

You don't accidentally end up

Off the grid

Never did meet a stranger

Know the danger

Unless you grew up like we did

You don't come here for no reason

You best recollect the season

You go visiting your mamaw

Round and round the mountain town knoll

The city kids don't ride the school bus but

You know what the country cousins did behind the woodshed
