I had a great time at CRS last week. For those who don’t know, CRS stands for Country Radio Seminar, and it’s a great convention for people who are involved with country radio.
Mainly the event is for radio DJs so that they can learn the latest news about Country Radio, and also so that the big Nashville based record companies can get all the radio DJs from around the country in one place to hear their new talent.

While a lot of music lovers are moving over to streaming or other internet forms of radio, Country Radio is still going strong and does a lot to break new country artists.
I have come away from the experience with a greater appreciation for what goes into programming the radio stations that I listen to on a regular basis, and also as a songwriter, I have a good idea what the labels are currently looking for in terms of material for their new artists.

Looking forward to keeping in touch with my new friends, and to connecting more deeply over the course of the next few years.
Music is my love and my calling. It is wonderful to spend a few days with others who feel the same way – whether they are musicians themselves, or whether they play the radio.

For those of you who are songwriters and music business folks, you might enjoy reading my more in depth industry related articles over on the Songpreneurs site.
For everyone else, thanks for reading. I look forward to checking in with you again in a few days to see what everyone is up to, and to fill you in on the most recent concert at the 7695 here in Nashville.
Love & Light,
Amanda
