It’s always a thrill to meet new and talented songwriters.
Back when I was hosting my weekly writer’s night “Blue Monday” in Midtown Nashville, it was easy to meet all the up-and-coming talent because they were there every week rubbing shoulders with songwriting greats, peers and industry scouts.
But for the past several years, I’ve mostly kept to myself out in the woods homeschooling my kids and writing the occasional album cut for Garth Brooks.
Maybe that’s why it was such a treat to perform at the Franklin Theatre for a songwriter round curated by the Williamson County Heritage Foundation**.
** NOTE – the Williamson County Heritage Foundation does not endorse any political candidate is NOT IN ANY WAY affiliated with the Washington D.C. Heritage Foundation. These are totally different orgs. FYI
The show was already stacked with a couple of the most talented songwriters out there today, Mr. Brock Berryhill and Mr. Josh Phillips.
These two are part of the recent string of hits by Brantley Gilbert, Kane Brown, Luke Combs and Josh single handedly wrote the new Cody Johnson single “Dirt Cheap,” a song that resonates deeply with the mission of the Foundation’s historical preservation work.
Looking forward to digging more deeply into the catalogs of these fine writers and to maybe even lending some harmony to the singer-songwriter album these two are dreaming up.
